MTSS-A Counselor: Supporting Academic Growth and Achievement

The MTSS-A (Multi-Tiered System of Supports for Academics) Counselor helps students achieve academic success by identifying learning needs, monitoring progress, and connecting students with appropriate academic interventions and supports. The counselor works closely with teachers, students, and families to promote strong learning habits and academic confidence. The MTSS-A counselor support students in the areas of:

  • Academic goal setting and progress monitoring
  • Study skills and organization strategies
  • Intervention planning and support
  • Data-based student success planning
  • Collaboration with teachers and families
  • Connecting students to academic resources
  • Family and community resource referrals

MTSS-B Counselor: Supporting Studnet Behavior, Social Emotional Wellness, and School Success

The MTSS-B (Multi-Tiered System of Supports for Behavior) Counselor helps students develop the skills they need to be successful in school and life. Services may include individual and small-group support, social-emotional learning, behavior intervention, conflict resolution, and strategies for managing emotions and stress. The MTSS-B counselor support students in the areas of:

  • Social-emotional learning and wellness
  • Positive behavior support
  • Conflict resolution and peer relationships
  • Self-regulation and coping strategies
  • Student check-ins and mentoring
  • Family and community resource referrals
